First Day Hikes for 2015

Posted by Spirit Creek Walking Sticks on 31st Dec 2014

There is something about the brand New Year to inspire us to reset, rethink our habits and gain a few healthy new ones. Across the country, First Day Hikes have inspired us to discover new trails, meet new friends and see places in a whole new way.

Whether your are an experienced hiker or just trying something new, first day hikes will inspire you, get you moving and show you some of the beautiful wild diversity all around us.

Ring in 2015 by joining one of 31 guided hikes in state parks on New Year’s Day. This is our fourth year offering First Day Hikes, a nationwide initiative sponsored by America’s State Parks. Last year, more than 940 hikers joined the ranger-led hikes in Oregon.

Day-use parking fees are waived on Jan. 1 for all visitors to participating state parks that normally require a permit.
